Network services
 
Network Services maintains the CalArts local area and wide area network. The local area network spans the main building, Butler buildings and the dorms. It consists of a fiber backbone with switched copper to the desktop. Network Services also manages the  servers for administrative use and provides dial-up access for CalArts students, staff, faculty and alumni.
 
Network Services provides assistance and support to students, faculty and staff in using computer software and hardware. Network Services installs and maintains the computers in the library and Institute administrative offices.
 
 
Network Services' Mission
Network Services manages the CalArts computer network, including the Institute's Internet access, management of the network backbone, and maintaining many of the Institute's servers. We ensure the proper maintenance of all network equipment. Our mission is to make certain adequate resources are available for all users by providing network security, reliability and functionality.
